John Savage’s career in the bail industry began in 1976, working for his father’s company. They formed Amwest Surety Insurance Company and started writing business in 1977. He started in the bail division, then transitioned to surety bonds five years later. In 2001 he formed his own general agency for bail bonds called Savage Insurance Services, Inc. and has been self-employed with Savage Insurance since then.

John is an active member of the California Bail Agent Association (CBAA), currently serving as an Area Director. He is passionate about defeating SB 262.

John Savage believes in the vision created by John Rorabaugh, Founder of Turning Leaf Inc. He feels the concept of providing indemnitors with guided support as well as access to social services, will benefit defendants, protect bail agents from loss of premium and help overhaul the bail industry.
